German integration course

German integration courses at Deutschinsitut Wien

Everyone who has signed an integration agreement (NEW or OLD) and who cannot prove German language skills to a level of A2 must take part in a German integration course. The German integration course covers 300 lessons of 45 minutes. The conclusion of the German integration course is the A2 final examination. The integration agreement in fulfilled with a successful pass of the A2 exam within 2 years

If you have signed the integration agreement you will receive a federal voucher, with which you can have 50% of the course costs refunded after passing the examination.  A maximum you will receive back is 750, - €. German integration courses must meet the quality standards of teaching in accordance with Integrationsvereinbarungs-Verordnung – IV-V (Integration Agreement Regulation - IV-V) and shall be conducted by certified teachers.

The Deutschinstitut offers German integration courses at all levels. The A1 level is made up of 3 courses (A1.1, A1.2, A1.3) and the A2 level is made up of 3 courses (A2.1, A2.2, A2.3). Courses at B1 level are also offers (B1.1 and B1.2). 

German integration courses start, for every level, a fresh each month (e.g. A1.1). An integration course lasts 1 month per course section (e.g. A2.2) and is held Monday to Friday 9am – 12pm.
It depends on individual immigrants prior knowledge as to how long the integration course takes. Therefore before booking the course we ask you to come into the office and take a placement test (oral and written).

Case 1: The immigrant has very little prior knowledge and begins at level A1.2. The person therefore attends 5 courses (A1.2, A1.3, A2.1, A2.2, A2.3) before they are prepared for the A2 examination of the ÖIF. The examination can be taken after the final course.

Case 2: The immigrant comes with solid A1 knowledge and begins at the Deutschinstitut with the A2.1 course. The person therefore attends 3 courses (A2.1, A2.2, A2.3) before they are prepared for the A2 examination of the ÖIF. The examination can be taken after the final course.
